Community Board 2 executive committee debates process for citywide resolutions after mayor controversy

At its February Executive Committee meeting, the Community Board 2 (Manhattan) Executive Committee discussed whether politically sensitive statements should be routed through committees or brought directly to the full board after a draft resolution calling for Mayor Eric Adamsto resign or be removed was circulated.

The debate centered on process rather than a final vote. Chair Susan Kent urged patience and committee vetting, saying, "Faster is not better, especially if we miss out on community input." Kent said she wanted any citywide or politically charged items to come through the committee system so the public and committee members could weigh in.
