Bettendorf council unanimously adopts building-code amendment, approves construction manager for police station/city hall project

Bettendorf City Council on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, unanimously approved a second-reading ordinance amending the Bettendorf City Code Title 10, Building and Development, and unanimously approved a resolution to contract with Esis Construction for construction-manager-at-risk services for the proposed police station and city hall renovation project. The council also approved its consent agenda unanimously before adjourning.
The ordinance was presented for a second reading by Council Member Sechsler, who moved approval of the second reading. The motion passed on a roll call in which Council Members Jaeger, Brown, Nauman, Sechsler, Baden, Blazinski, Palczynski and Adamson voted aye. Council indicated one additional reading would follow for the ordinance.
Council Member Baden introduced and moved the resolution approving an agreement with Esis Construction to provide construction manager at risk services for the proposed police station/city hall renovation project. The resolution passed unanimously on a roll call by the same council members listed above.
The council then approved the consent agenda unanimously; the meeting packet contained a revised consent list the council said addressed concerns raised at a prior meeting.
