The Le Mars City Council voted to adopt Ordinance 994 to amend zoning districts and permit expansion of the Parkview Terrace Mobile Home Park. The parcels are at 76 Sixteenth Avenue Northwest (Parcel 12-08-376-013 and Parcel 12-08-376-012); both were described at the meeting as changing from B-2 to R-2 zoning to allow the mobile home park to expand.
Administration and the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval. A council member moved to approve the second reading of Ordinance 994; the motion was seconded. The council then voted to waive the third reading and to adopt the ordinance on its second reading.
Roll-call votes were recorded at both the waiver and adoption steps. Council members Sturgeon, Wick, Hick, Goodchild, Barnes and Bruns are recorded as voting yes; the motions carried.
The rezoning will allow the mobile home park to expand into the two parcels named in the ordinance. The council did not discuss specific development plans or a construction schedule during the meeting; those details were not specified.
