Planning staff updated the Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning Commission on several administrative and program items at the Feb. 19 meeting.
Chris French, planning staff, said the borough's hazard mitigation plan is scheduled for assembly review Feb. 27 and again on March 6 as part of a resolution review. After assembly action, the plan will be transmitted to cities within the borough and to the State of Alaska for review.
French also reported internal staffing changes: Bronwyn Curry has been promoted to assistant planner and James Dixon to associate planner and enforcement position; a secretary position (which will serve as the commission parliamentarian when filled) remains open.
French said he will provide additional information to the commission about the comprehensive plan at the March work session and regular meeting. Commissioners thanked staff for stepping in during temporary absences and noted upcoming meeting dates.
