Planning and Zoning Commission elects chair and vice chair, names committee representatives

The Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning Commission elected Sarah Fraser as chair and Court Neff as vice chair at its regular meeting Wednesday, Feb. 19, in Borough Assembly Chambers.
The commission approved the meeting agenda and the minutes from its Nov. 20, 2024, meeting by voice vote before taking up organizational items. The chair and vice chair are elected annually; Fraser received a 6-0 roll-call vote for chair and Neff received a 6-0 roll-call vote for vice chair.
Commissioners also appointed Court Neff as the commission's representative to the Borough Parks and Recreation Committee by voice vote. The commission postponed selecting an alternate Parks and Recreation representative to its next regular meeting. For the Borough Lands Committee, the commission voted to continue representatives as discussed at its work session; commissioners approved reappointing Tracy and Commissioner Craig (as the borough and city representatives, respectively) to the Lands Committee.
The commission noted a final plat submittal (Subdivision case 23-011) met applicable code requirements according to staff, but no formal vote on the plat was recorded in the meeting transcript.
The meeting included routine roll calls and voice votes; where roll-call tallies were recorded in the transcript, the chair and vice chair elections were recorded as passing 6-0.
The commission set its next work session for Wednesday, March 12, and its next regular meeting for Wednesday, March 19, both at 6:30 p.m. in Assembly Chambers.
