Captain Norman of the Carson Station introduced Deputy Quinn Alconis and Deputy Nicholas Martinez and described their actions after they were deployed to Altadena. "We got there and they tell us to go to an address to evacuate," Deputy Martinez recounted. The deputies encountered a senior living facility and conducted a search; on the third floor they found a 100-year-old woman who had been trying to find a way out and escorted her to safety.
