PUC of Nevada approves minutes and multiple consent items; Commissioner Brown discloses recent AT&T employment

The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada approved routine business and a set of staff and counsel recommendations in a single series of votes during its meeting.
The commission approved the Dec. 31, 2024 meeting minutes by voice vote after Chair Haley Williamson moved to approve and Commissioner Cordova seconded. The motion carried with Commissioners Williamson, Cordova and Brown voting aye.
On agenda item 4A — an order to show cause proposal involving three AT&T-related entities identified on the record as AT&T Enterprises, GigaPower and Teleport Communications of America — Commissioner Brown disclosed he left AT&T in September 2023 and that General Counsel advised him he could vote on the matter. Chair Williamson then moved to accept General Counsel’s recommendation and issue the proposed order; the motion was seconded and the commissioners voted aye.
The commission also accepted Regulatory Operations staff recommendations and issued orders for agenda items 5A, 6A, 7A and 7B in a single motion. The chair moved to accept staff recommendations; after a second the motion carried with all commissioners saying “aye.”
All votes reported at the meeting were passed by voice vote with no recorded dissent. No individual second speaker was consistently identified on the record for every consent motion.
