Commission appoints Trevor Hans to Finney County seat on Holcomb–Garden City–Finney County planning commission

The Finney County Board of Commissioners appointed Trevor Hans on Dec. 16 to a three-year county-appointed term on the Holcomb–Garden City–Garden City Area Planning Commission, filling a vacancy that expires Dec. 31, 2027.
Trevor Hans, who said he is a lifelong Finney County resident and a co-founder of the nonprofit Red Dog Children—s Museum, told commissioners he learned about the opening from Vicki German and said he wants to serve "because I'm very interested in its growth and, I'm just here to serve my county." Hans confirmed he wished to be appointed as the Finney County representative.
Assistant director for neighborhood and development services Alicia Charles outlined four applicants for the vacancy and noted an at-large position representing all three jurisdictions is expected to open at year end. Commissioners said the at-large appointment requires agreement from all three jurisdictions.
A commissioner moved to appoint Hans, citing his community work with the museum. The motion carried on a voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded.
