Vasquez said he had planned to place some items into a dumpster or Bagster the next week and that contractors had taken items he intended to keep for reuse. He asked the council to eliminate the assessment.
Council Member Buie moved to delete the assessment entirely; the motion passed (recorded vote in the meeting: 6 in favor, 0 opposed). Council members said the homeowner appeared to have made a good-faith effort and had no prior history of violations at the address.
Action: The council deleted the special-assessment charge for 1066 Denson Street; no assessment will be billed.
