The Iowa County Board of Supervisors voted to accept Peterson Contractors’ low bid of $495,876.25 for a bridge project on D Avenue and authorized the board chair to sign the contract documents.
The action, recorded as Resolution 2024-12-20, follows a bridge letting conducted this week. County staff told supervisors the low bid of $495,876.25 was under the engineer’s estimate of roughly $503,000. The board approved a resolution to accept the contract and empower the chair to sign on behalf of the board.
County staff said three bids were received and presented a cost comparison to the board prior to the vote. The resolution additionally authorizes county staff to execute necessary paperwork through the electronic systems used by the county (Doc Express and Appian).
Supervisors voted in favor of the resolution during the meeting; the roll call was conducted verbally and the chair announced the motion approved.
Work on the project is scheduled next year. County staff will handle the contract execution and construction oversight under the terms accepted by the board.
The board also noted that signature lines were available for each voting member to sign the resolution immediately after the vote.
