Meeting calendar (Item 12): The board debated recalling Item 12 from the consent agenda to discuss the published schedule for regular meetings and the start time for the monthly evening meeting. Staff had proposed changing the second‑Tuesday evening meeting start time from 6 p.m. to 4 p.m. for scheduling consistency in the annual posting required by open-meeting law. After discussion in which supervisors cited competing priorities — public access after the workday versus earlier adjournment and staff scheduling — Supervisor Horstman moved that the board continue to schedule the second‑Tuesday evening meeting to start at 6 p.m. Supervisor Fowler seconded; the board voted in favor and the motion carried. The annual posting will reflect the board’s decision and staff noted the schedule can be changed later if needed.
Other procedural votes: The board made routine procedural motions to enter and exit executive session for legal advice and to authorize district-level executive sessions where appropriate; those motions were made and approved in open session as required by the county’s meeting process.
