The Coconino County Board of Supervisors voted Dec. 17 to recommend that the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control approve a Series 010 (beer-and-wine store) liquor license for Hart’s Gas and Food Store at 7180 N. Highway 89 in Flagstaff.
County staff told the board that the location previously held a liquor license and that the current application arises from a change in ownership. The application was circulated to the county sheriff’s office, health department, risk manager and community development; no county departments reported concerns. The sheriff’s office posted the hearing notice at the site for the required 20 days and county staff said no public comments were received during the posting period.
The public hearing was opened. An online attendee raised a hand but did not complete remarks; no in-person speakers offered comments. The agent listed on the application, Darryl Westra, was present and available to answer questions.
Supervisor Horstman moved to recommend approval; Supervisor Hess seconded. The board voted “aye,” and the motion carried. The board’s action was a recommendation to the state licensing authority; final licensing authority rests with the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control.
The transcript does not record conditions attached to the recommendation or any additional restrictions beyond those required by state law.
