Springfield Township SD board approves Chromebook lease, fitness equipment, contracts and policy revisions; superintendent reports strong belonging scores

Mr. Bedard, a board member, called the Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, regular meeting of the School District of Springfield Township to order and the board proceeded to approve a series of personnel agreements, purchases and policy changes while hearing administrative reports from the superintendent and staff.

Superintendent (name not specified) opened the administrative reports by acknowledging a nearby SPS fire that displaced families and affected district employees and by thanking emergency responders. The superintendent highlighted recent student and staff activities, including a Special Olympics Polar Plunge that raised $17,650 — above a $12,000 goal and the district's 2024 total of $11,450 — and reported results from a winter belonging survey with student responses “in the upper 90s” and “as high as 98%” for items such as sense of belonging and feeling safe at school.

The board heard praise for the operations team, including maintenance and grounds staff, and recognition of the department for weekend and emergency responses. The superintendent also reminded the public that a webinar and construction work for the Bridal School renovation and addition project will begin construction next week following two years of planning.
