The Sandy City Council adopted Ordinance 25‑10 on Feb. 11, 2025, approving a zoning map amendment that rezoned one parcel at 1270 East 8600 South (approximately 0.43 acre) from CN (commercial neighborhood) to RM‑12 (residential multifamily, 12 units/acre).
Jake Warner, the city’s long‑range planning manager, told the council the application had been presented to the planning commission on Jan. 16 and was previously shared with council as an informational item on Feb. 4. The council opened the item for public comment; no in‑person blue cards or virtual raised hands were received.
Council Member Zach Robinson moved to adopt Ordinance 25‑10, with a second by Council Member Ryan Meekum. During roll call the following members voted yes: Zach Robinson, Ryan Meekum, Brooke D’Souza, Aaron DeKeyser (chair), Allison Stroud, Marcy Hausman and Cindy Sharkey. The motion carried, 7‑0.
The ordinance amends the Sandy City Zoning Ordinance boundaries for the identified parcel as described on the record; no additional conditions or amendments were recorded in the council motion.
