Sand Creek Station staff reported a strong 2024 performance to the Newton City Commission, saying the municipal course achieved its highest revenue on record, grew rounds to 36,808 and outperformed budgeted revenues by 22.5% while keeping expense growth to 6.4%.
Dustin, representing the Sand Creek Station team and Kemper Sports, introduced staff including Annie Carrillo (regional sales and marketing director), Tristan Webb (sales and marketing director), Lori Kimmerer (controller/HR) and TJ Weidner (regional operations executive). Dustin and TJ highlighted customer loyalty programs and technology investments that the course credited for sustaining growth.
The presentation said rounds in 2024 were technically the course’s second‑highest total after 2021 but that revenue growth and net promoter scores were historic. Sand Creek Station reported a net promoter score near 90 on a National Golf Foundation (NGF) survey that had 498 in‑depth responses from more than 27,000 contacts. The staff described the NGF survey as time‑intensive and representative of frequent players (8–15 rounds per year).
Sand Creek discussed operational tools used to capture demand, including dynamic pricing and a virtual tee‑time assistant that notifies players of last‑minute cancellations to backfill prime tee times. Staff also noted common industry challenges, including pace of play and maintaining course conditions with high rounds.
Commissioners and attendees praised the course’s management. One commissioner noted the 22% revenue increase and expenses kept below budget as evidence of strong fiscal management, and another called Sand Creek Station “one of our crown jewels.”
Sand Creek Station stressed continued investments in service, customer loyalty and staff training as central to the reported results.
