Councilmembers said allocations under discussion included $10,000 for the police department, $10,000 for the senior recreation center, and $10,000 for the Twin Cities Task Force for the Homeless.
On parks projects, council members discussed plans to renovate or replace restrooms, complete work on a splash pad (noting a remaining shortfall of about $75,000 to $80,000), and use a portion of grant funds for playground equipment upgrades. One councilmember said the parks department would prioritize finishing the splash pad and might apply branding opportunities (naming rights) to help cover costs.
Councilmembers also discussed senior-center needs and said they would inventory equipment needs (refrigerator, blender, hot-water capacity) and apply grant dollars to support programming and operations at the senior center. The council thanked Erie County legislators for securing $10,000 support to the Twin Cities Task Force for the Homeless and announced a HUD-required point-in-time count of homelessness in late January.
Councilmembers emphasized that some grant amounts and final budgets remain subject to pricing and formal award documents. They directed staff to pursue available funding and report back on firm costs and timelines.
