Flagler Beach forms parks committee; committee to meet monthly as city readies fall events

Flagler Beach officials said the city’s first Parks Committee met and scheduled regular meetings for the first Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Commission Chambers. Committee member Mr. Lansdowne prepared a brief questionnaire to gather public input on visions for park use; staff asked residents to complete and return the questionnaire so the committee can review results at its next meeting.
City staff outlined several upcoming community events scheduled for Saturday: a Flagler Creates activity beginning with the Witches’ Bridal bicycle ride (registration at 7:30 a.m.; rides conclude about 8:30–9:30 a.m.), a police prescription drug take-back from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a scavenger hunt hosted by Flagler Strong in the afternoon, the city-hosted trunk-or-treat at Wickline Park (previously run by the police department), and the monthly Flagler Family Flicks showing The Wizard of Oz.
Staff also reminded the public that city offices will be closed on Veterans Day and that several commissioners will participate in the county Veterans Day parade. The Parks Committee questionnaire and the committee’s meeting schedule will be posted online on the city’s website.
