The county approved releasing the retainage payment to Oldcastle DBA United to close out the Craig Airport runway rehabilitation project; FAA reimbursement remains pending pending final paperwork.
Moffat County commissioners voted Dec. 31 to approve a final retainage payment of $341,410.36 to Oldcastle DBA United to close out the Craig Airport runway rehabilitation project.
County airport project manager Candace Miller told the board the payment represents retainage and that Armstrong Consultants is completing final reporting to the Federal Aviation Administration so the county can submit final invoices and receive reimbursement. “This will be the final payment on the Runway Rehab project. That final payment will be an amount of, $341,410.36. That is the retainage,” Miller said.
Miller said the project finished more than $1,000,000 under budget and that the county expects to submit three final invoices for reimbursement after FAA review. “I'll have 3 invoices, in final for the project, and then we will be reimbursed,” she said.
A commissioner identified in the record as “Mister Terra” moved to approve the final payment to Oldcastle DBA United in the amount of $341,410.36; a second was recorded and the motion carried.
The board did not take other action on airport items during the meeting. No members of the public testified during the later public hearing portion addressing the county's supplemental budget, which included a separate large airport revenue recognition item.
