Florence schedules parks master‑plan open house Jan. 21; council asks for master document and discusses digital packets

Staff told the council the parks master planning process is entering a final phase and the city will hold a public open house on Jan. 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. to gather additional comments.
Eric Hall, a staff member, told Councilmember Leslie that the consultant work will be combined into a single document and provided to council prior to any decisions. "We're finishing up that final phase which is almost done. We're gonna be doing the public meeting, getting any additional comments that the public may have and then everything will be presented and you will receive [a] 100 page document to review," Hall said.
Leslie asked whether the public meeting date was Jan. 21 and staff confirmed the open house will be held at the Nature Park from 4 to 7 p.m.
Councilmembers also raised the idea of receiving meeting packets digitally. One councilmember said they would like digital copies; another asked whether some members could receive digital packets while others continued to receive paper. The mayor said the council previously raised the issue and that staff could revisit it.
No formal action was taken; staff stated the consolidated master‑plan document will be delivered to council before decisions are made.
