The Le Mars City Council voted Jan. 7 to hold a special meeting at 12 p.m. on Jan. 14 to consider and, if appropriate, approve a bond purchase agreement for water revenue bonds.
City staff advised the council the special meeting could be held telephonically and suggested the city hall conference room if members participate by phone; if held in person, the meeting would be in the council chambers. The stated purpose is to approve a bond purchase agreement (BPA) by resolution related to water revenue bonds.
Councilmembers asked whether the mayor needed to be present to run the meeting and discussed staff coverage and quorum logistics for a telephonic meeting. A motion to set the special meeting date and time was made and seconded; the council voted and the motion carried.
No bond terms or resolution number were presented at the Jan. 7 meeting; the agenda item was limited to scheduling the special meeting for the bond approval process.
