Taylor ISD earns another "superior" financial rating; board approves i-Ready universal screener and consent agenda

Taylor Independent School District reported at a public hearing Oct. 20 that it received a "superior" first rating on the state'style 21-indicator financial accountability review, scoring 94 out of 100, and the board of trustees approved a consent agenda by a 5-0 vote that included adopting i-Ready as the district'wide universal screener and approving district and campus improvement plans.

The public hearing on the district'level financial review preceded the regular board meeting. A district finance presenter told the board the district has earned the superior rating for seven consecutive years and passed the 21 indicator tests used to assess financial management and transparency. "We have been able to maintain a superior rating," the presenter said. "The scoring again is a 94. It ranges from 0 to 100." The rating summary matters because the indicators examine auditing, timely payments, fund balance stability and compliance.
