Carol Kusmo, a retired art teacher from Citrus County Schools, introduced an exhibit at the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum in which 13 artists are featured, eight of them current art teachers and five retired. Kusmo said she created a piece on the theme of shame after reviewing Florida mug shots and selected one person whose photograph inspired her work. Kusmo identified other contributors by name: Erica Tijirilamo, an art teacher at Hernando (Huntington?) High School, and Jennifer Bowen, who teaches at 7 Rivers School. Kusmo said DJ Collins, an art teacher at Laurel City Elementary, created a personal piece that is not for sale; several other works in the gallery are for sale and purchase information is available via posted signs with an email contact.
