High school addition progresses; Venture chiller/ice project moves to punch list

District operations staff updated the board on the high school addition and the Venture chiller/ice project.
For the high school addition, staff reported that structural crews have installed stairways but handrails had not yet arrived from the steel manufacturer; roofers finished parapet caps; concrete crews have poured the main floor and hoped to finish pouring to the front of the stage by the end of the week, subject to warmer weather. HVAC crews continue ductwork in the science and art wings; plumbers are installing equipment and rough‑ins; a fire sprinkler pump was installed to provide adequate pressure at the building’s height; carpenters are installing cabinetry; and painters and ceiling crews are completing interior finishes in classroom, music and office areas. Staff said risers for the vocal room and some flooring and furniture deliveries are scheduled for the month.
On the Venture chiller/ice project, staff reported a substantial completion walk‑through has been held, a punch list remains and a startup procedure will occur when temperatures warm to complete commissioning in summer. The district also reported that the city planner has approved site plans for the bus barn and that construction drawings will go to the city planning and zoning and city council in March.
