A staff member announced that the Oro Valley Budget and Finance Commission’s Feb. 18 meeting, scheduled for 4 p.m., was canceled because a quorum was not present.
The announcement came at the start of the scheduled meeting. “We do not have a quorum this evening,” the staff member said, adding, “So the budget and finance commission meeting is canceled.” The staff member also noted the commission’s next scheduled meeting will be March 18 at 4 p.m.
Because no quorum was present, no formal business, votes or hearings were conducted and no agenda items were considered. The cancellation means items on the Feb. 18 agenda will either be rescheduled for a future meeting or handled according to the commission’s normal administrative procedures, if and when staff or commissioners provide further notice.
The commission handles municipal budget and finance oversight for Oro Valley; the canceled meeting removed an opportunity for public comment or for commissioners to take formal action on agenda items that had been posted for Feb. 18.
The town’s meeting calendar should list any updates to the commission’s schedule or agenda materials ahead of the March 18 meeting.
