On the consent agenda, trustees pulled items B52 and B53 for separate discussion. B52, a resolution authorizing the disposal or donation of district property, passed after trustees asked how disposed items are handled; the administration said items marked for disposal are routed through the district’s refuse vendor and that donated items are documented. B53, a low-bid award for window and roofing work, also passed. Trustees questioned whether the district would receive windows it could service long term and were told bids were based on detailed specifications prepared by the district’s architect; any proposed substitute products must be approved as equal by the architect and construction manager.
The board also accepted two donations: $1,339 from Midtown Kingston Arts District for a Miller Middle School 8th-grade class activity, and a set of library books valued at $245.79 for Edson Elementary from multiple donors. The consent agenda passed with the two items removed and later approved after discussion.
These approvals move planned facility improvements forward subject to standard contract documents and later construction oversight; trustees directed administrators and the district’s procurement and facilities teams to monitor specifications and product equality during implementation.
