Yamhill economic development committee recommends local caterer for appointment

The City of Yamhill Economic Development Committee voted Feb. 4 to recommend that Dustin, a local caterer and business owner, be appointed to the committee.
A motion to recommend the appointment was made, seconded and approved by roll call. Recorded votes at the meeting included: Reimer, aye; Morrison, aye; Higgins, aye; and Fletcher, aye. The committee chair announced the recommendation will be forwarded to the city council for its approval, a required next step.
Dustin introduced himself and described his local business experience. “I have been, in the city of Yamhill for about 3 and a half years, and I'm I've been in the Yamhill County for, 12 years, as a chef originally in McMinnville, and then owning my own company for 10 years this year,” he said. Committee members welcomed his hospitality and small-business experience and discussed possible contributions he could make to downtown economic efforts.
The committee provided no formal conditions on the recommendation. The council must act to complete the appointment process. No further formal actions were recorded on the motion at the meeting.
