Benbrook City Council on Feb. 20 unanimously approved a resolution to remove identifying information about juveniles from its April 18, 2024 meeting minutes, accepted the city’s finance report for the period ending Jan. 31, 2025, and approved an ordinance renaming Creekside Drive to Andy Wayman Drive.
The council said the minutes amendment responded to concerns from parents who said information in the April 18, 2024 minutes could be used to identify their children. "In the interest of privacy and safety, the identifying information of these juveniles [should] be removed from the official minutes of the 04/18/2024 city council meeting," the mayor introduced during the agenda item. The motion to accept the amended resolution passed unanimously after a motion by Addison and a second from Mackey.
