Wastewater projects at Milner and Peaberg nearing system checkouts, county manager says

The project’s next step is startup and final sludge remediation, though staff said additional work remains on the collection system. Milner is scheduled for a system checkout on Feb. 17 with a subsequent startup on Mar. 4; Milner also requires additional sludge remediation.
A commissioner asked which agency performs the final inspection. The county manager said he believed the engineer conducts the inspection and certifies it, and that the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) “has to approve the startup” but typically will not accept full responsibility for installations.
