Timber Ranch rezoning application continued to March 24 for more zoning control details

During its Feb. 24 meeting the Lake County Planning Commission agreed to table the Timber Ranch rezoning application to allow staff and the applicant time to provide missing details in the zoning control document that is part of a planned‑unit development application.
Staff explained that the submitted zoning control document contained general elements but lacked several specifics that staff expected to be furnished at preliminary review. The county notified the applicant, and staff said it had been in contact with the applicant’s representative, Nick Castello, who will supply the missing materials. To avoid re‑noticing the file, staff requested a continuance to a date certain.
Commissioners moved and seconded to postpone the public hearing to March 24, 2025; the motion passed by voice vote. Staff said no re‑notice would be required because a date‑certain continuance was requested.
The commission did not open the public hearing for the item at the Feb. 24 meeting. Staff indicated that when the missing zoning control details are submitted, staff will review them and bring the application back on the March 24 agenda for full consideration.
The action on Timber Ranch is procedural: the hearing was continued (tabled) to March 24 to allow the applicant to provide required materials and staff to complete its review.
