The Denton County Commissioners Court on Jan. 20 voted unanimously to reappoint members to the Denton County Housing Finance Corporation and to the Denton County Civil Service Commission, and to appoint one new member to the civil service board.
The chair of the Commissioners Court moved to approve the appointments to the Denton County Housing Finance Corporation (agenda item 13b), naming the chair—or reappointments of Andy Eads and Dina Meek, the appointment of Dr. Brenda Atcherson, and the reappointment of Raymond David. Commissioner Williams seconded the motion. The court approved the appointments by unanimous voice vote.
Under agenda item 15c, Commissioner Evans moved to reappoint Miss Glover to the Denton County Civil Service Commission and to appoint Ray Bowens as a new member; Commissioner Mitchell seconded the motion. That motion also passed by unanimous voice vote. The court recorded that there would be no action on item 15a and noted that item 15b had been handled earlier.
The votes were conducted by voice; the minutes record the motions, seconding commissioners and that each motion "carried unanimously." No roll-call vote tally with individual names was read aloud in the transcript.
The court adjourned after brief closing remarks noting there would be no Commissioners Court meeting the following Tuesday and urging residents to observe the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and to take precautions for approaching winter weather.
Details of each action appear below.
