The Troy Planning Board unanimously approved final plans for a new KeyBank branch proposed adjacent to the Market 32 shopping plaza on Vandenberg Avenue.
Ben Gingrich of HSBC Architects, representing KeyBank, presented the proposal for a 2,800‑square‑foot, single‑story bank branch with an auto‑teller/drive‑through and an entrance oriented to the south to face the shopping‑plaza access. Gingrich said the design uses masonry, stucco wall panels and a branded red portal entrance. "We did get variance on front setback, side setback, variance to have a 1 story building, and to have an entrance facing south on the site," he told the board.
Gingrich said the site plan includes landscaping, pedestrian‑scale sunshades and full compliance with the city's snow‑storage requirements that had been raised in an earlier review round. Board members had no substantive questions during the presentation; no members of the public spoke on the application.
A board member moved for final approval; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. No additional conditions were announced at the hearing.
The action was recorded as final project approval; the application was categorized as a Type‑2 action requiring no further SEQRA determination by the board.
