Commissioner Lonnie Wright was elected chairman of the Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners at the board’s meeting on Jan. 7, 2025.

The nomination of Lonnie Wright for chairman was moved and seconded during the meeting; the board voted by voice and the motion passed. The board set the chairmanship to continue until a successor is selected in January 2026.

The vote followed a brief roll call with no substantive discussion recorded on the nomination. Commissioner Sill was thanked after the vote for prior service in the chair role. The action completes the board’s annual organization of officers for 2025.
