Committee approves Northland High School ski trips to Vermont

The ECI Committee voted Oct. 7 to approve two Northland High School ski-club trips: an estimated 80–86 students to Killington, Vermont, Jan. 29–Feb. 1, and about 40–44 students to Stowe, Vermont, Feb. 26–March 1.
District staff told the committee that students will pay the majority of expenses for both trips but accommodations will be made for students experiencing financial hardship. The committee chair asked for a motion to move the travel requests forward; the motion was seconded and the committee approved the request.
“Any comments or discussion? All in favor? Aye. Motion passes,” the committee chair said following the motion.
The minutes from the previous meeting were also approved earlier in the session by unanimous voice vote with committee members responding “Aye.” There was no recorded roll-call tally of individual votes in the public transcript.
No additional conditions or specific funding allocations were recorded in the discussion. Committee members offered a brief congratulation for the students and wished them a safe trip.
