County approves design and small construction change orders for General Services Building conference room

Sarah Mann, director of General Services, told commissioners the HR office recently moved into the basement area and the building lacks a private conference and interview space. The project as presented includes design and advertisement services and a later construction change order for build‑out.
The board approved two items on separate motions: - Advertisement/design services: a motion (mover: Commissioner Gardner; second: Commissioner Carleman) approved ad/design services with Keita Grama (listed in staff materials as "Keita Grama") in an amount not to exceed $12,500 for the conference room project. Vote: unanimous. - Contract change order: a motion (mover: Commissioner Gardner; second: Commissioner Carleman) approved a contract change order with Cornus Architecture, LLC in the amount of $3,150 for design changes. Vote: unanimous.
Mann said Facilities Capital Fund will pay construction costs; she told the board the fund had approximately $1.5 million and that about half of that amount is already committed for the current year. The board asked that the project proceed through the standard construction change‑order process and return if additional construction dollars are required.
