The Teton County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously Feb. 18 to approve two nonexclusive listing agreements to sell two surplus mini attack pumpers for $474,000 each, with a 5 percent sales commission.
Deputy Fire Chief Brian Coe explained county staff had earlier worked with an equipment broker that proposed a listing price near $524,000 per unit. By listing directly with two firms, the county reduced the broker commission and arrived at a target price of $474,000 for each truck. The agreements are nonexclusive, allowing the county to market the vehicles through multiple brokers to improve the chance of sale.
The motion approved two listing agreements (one with Brindley Mountain Fire Apparatus and a second with a second apparatus broker named in the staff report). The motion included a provision allowing Fire Chief Mike Moyer, together with the deputy county attorney, to negotiate an alternate sales price if necessary; any negotiated sale would be presented back to the Board of County Commissioners for final approval.
Motion and vote: Commissioner Gardner moved to approve both listing agreements at $474,000 each with a 5% commission; Commissioner Macker seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
Ending: The county will proceed to list the two mini attack pumpers using the approved nonexclusive agreements and return to the board if staff negotiates a different sales price.
