The Lake Oswego School Board on the evening convened its contract review board and approved a $342,184 change order for Robinson Construction related to work at Lake Oswego Middle School.
District project staff told the board the bulk of the change order covers added and missed signage, updated environmental graphics inside the building, installation of a netting system at the athletic field to stop balls from leaving the site, additional over‑excavation discovered during work, new concrete sidewalks and sealers in outdoor food areas, and minor roofing revisions. The presenter said crews also discovered a long‑buried tree under the driveway that required removal.
Board members asked about budget and schedule impacts. District staff said the project is “still well within the range” of the construction budget and that larger change orders are expected to taper as work reaches finishing phases. Staff confirmed the schedule is not affected and the building remains on track to open for the next school year.
Director Wallen moved to authorize the clerk or deputy clerk to approve Robinson’s change order in the amount of $342,184; Director Lufton seconded. The motion was approved by voice vote and the contract review board adjourned.
District staff will proceed with the approved change order and continue project reporting to the board during regular updates.
