Council President Swart moved to confirm the committee members appointed by the mayor; the motion passed. The appointees announced during the meeting were Lee Raleigh, Cliff Fiegelsen, Aaron Denadel, Lee Bacon, Alan Richrod, Carrie Hubbard, Scott Rainvan and Melvin Taylor.
Council members stressed that committee success depends on active participation. "Sometimes we create committees and then point people to go, and they don't participate," one councilor said, urging attendance from the appointees.
