The Dawson County Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of a rezoning application (ZA 2507) that would change 1.697 surveyed acres from CHB (Commercial Highway Business) to RSR (Rural/Residential) for property owned by Trail and Sons.
Applicant Ben Trail told commissioners the property had previously been zoned entirely CHB by the county's former sole commissioner and that the current request is intended to correct zoning so the house parcel is residential while leaving commercial zoning for the boat-storage portion. No members of the public spoke in favor or opposition at the hearing.
The commission recommended approval; the matter will be considered by the Board of Commissioners next month.
