At its Dec. 16 meeting Liberty Hill ISD trustees approved multiple construction and procurement items tied to the district's 2023 bond program, including early guaranteed maximum prices for Elementary No. 8 and a high‑school renovation package, a third‑party materials‑testing contract and a small interior infill to create an isolation-capable special‑education room.
Elementary No. 8 early GMP
Trustees authorized Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) No. 1 to American Constructors for an early site/utility and related scopes for Elementary No. 8 in the amount of $5,875,493. The motion to award the GMP was made by Board member Kennedy and carried on a voice vote. The administration said the total elementary project is estimated not to exceed $45 million and the early GMP prepares the site and utilities work for full construction.
High‑school expansions and concessions GMP
The board also approved GMP No. 1 for the Liberty Hill High School expansion and renovation project (proposition A) and the concessions and restroom work (proposition C). The recommended package from Bartlett Cocke General Contractors totaled $22,697,789, including an alternate for plaza/pedestrian improvements. Board member Major moved the approval and trustee Ferguson seconded; the voice vote passed.
Materials testing and special‑education room work
Trustees approved a contract for third‑party observation and materials testing with Alliance Engineering Group for several bond projects (estimated combined cost $321,620), and a small construction contract with Kaya Services LLC for a $16,057 special‑education room infill at Bill Burton Elementary to create two separable spaces for isolation and observation. The administration said unused contingencies in bond projects will return to the capital projects fund or be reallocated consistent with bond controls.
