Mayor Chow outlined possible partnerships with Cupertino TV Productions Group, the Historical Society, Rotary, Sister Cities and local community groups. Proposed activities include a May AAPI multicultural festival in Civic Plaza, an art festival in the community hall, workshops where volunteers and interns (potentially high school students) would interview seniors, and community dance events to encourage broad participation. The mayor said an eventual phase could include using AI tools to extract oral-history content from collected entries and to produce some short videos with local partners.
Mayor Chow asked for volunteers and technical help (a website and data collection form) and said the initiative is intended to coincide with the city's 70th anniversary celebrations.
