Council approves site plan for 99,000-square-foot Metro Custom Plastics building on Great Southwest Parkway

The Grand Prairie City Council approved a site plan for Metro Custom Plastics for a 99,000-square-foot building located on Great Southwest Parkway.
Staff said the plan meets the city’s dimensional, parking and landscaping requirements and that the zoning for the site was approved in October 2024. Planning staff added that no variances were requested and that the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval Jan. 27 by an 8–0 vote. Staff presented proposed building elevations and recommended approval with conditions that were already included in the property’s PD.
There were no substantive public objections or speaker cards; a council member asked staff whether the speaker screen in the council chamber could be used to show site-plan materials to the public. With no variances requested, a council member moved to approve the item as presented by staff; the motion carried.
The council welcomed Metro Custom Plastics to Grand Prairie following the vote.
