The Orangeburg County School Board convened in executive session at its Jan. 14 meeting to discuss personnel recommendations, contractual matters and legal advice. The board stated those reasons on the record before recessing to executive session.
When the board returned to open session, a motion was made and seconded to approve the superintendent’s recommendations relating to employment, reassignments, resignations and nonrenewals as presented during executive session. The motion passed by voice vote; the transcript records the motion, a second, and a vote in favor. The board did not read individual personnel names or actions into the open record at the meeting beyond confirming the motion to approve the superintendent’s recommendations.
The board scheduled upcoming meetings and adjourned at 8:13 p.m.
