At its meeting the Tuscaloosa City Council approved a bundle of resolutions, contracts, appointments and code changes affecting city operations and projects. Most items were moved, seconded and adopted with little discussion after the clerk read each item.
Key items adopted include temporary expansions of downtown entertainment-district hours for Oct. 29 and Dec. 4, 2025; a right-of-way permit to the Academy Drive Homeowners Association; multiple "as-needed" or minor public-works contracts with Red Oak Paint Company LLC, Chip Griffith Construction LLC, West Alabama Mechanical Inc., and Civil Works Construction LLC; a memorandum of understanding with the Saebon Center Foundation; professional services contracts with Lance Holloway Productions LLC, Milliman, Thornton Musso & Bellaman, Garber LLC; and Amendment No. 2 to a professional engineering contract with TTL Incorporated.
Council also adopted amendments to the FY2026 General Fund Reserve for Future Improvements, amended the FY2026 Elevate Tuscaloosa fund budget, appointed members to boards including an appointment of Steven Deal to the PERA board of directors, and amended section 22-36 of the Tuscaloosa code. The council authorized a grant agreement with ALDOT for the Ash Street sidewalk project and approved payment of bills as presented.
