Stadium project advances; district expects major work to finish by Dec. 31

District construction staff told the board the stadium and track project is progressing on schedule, with major site work complete and a target for primary installation by Dec. 31.
Project lead Jay (staff member) reported catch basins and trenching for drainage are installed and contractors are building the field base (about 15.5 inches of material in place). Surveying for track run-ups and field events is underway and the scoreboard has been ordered. Poles for light structures are largely installed; one pole was left in place at the town’s request to allow for a streetlight on Orchard.
Jay said stadium seating orders include community donations and sponsorships; the district expects donated seats and has received philanthropic support for the project. The restroom installation and final track coating are scheduled for spring, after the primary field and stadium assembly. He said materials for stadium structures were expected mid-November and that construction teams hope to assemble large components and reach substantial completion by Dec. 31.
Officials credited voter support, grant writing and partner organizations for enabling the project and estimated the district will meet its local match targets to avoid overburdening local taxpayers.
Ending: staff said the district will host a dedication event when finishing stages are complete next spring; board members thanked construction and operations staff for progress.
