District staff said the proposed merchandising and manufacturing course does not yet include finalized lessons on payroll taxes and human resources; staff added the suggestion to the curriculum components list for consideration by the teacher committee that will build the course should the board approve the proposal. “If, and when [the course] is approved, then we will start to go in and apply some of these different ideas,” a district curriculum staff member said.
Motion and vote
A committee member moved the items to the full board and the committee recorded a unanimous voice vote in favor. Staff said no significant public feedback was received during the 30‑day posting and that these items will return to the full board on Nov. 5 for final action.

Staff noted these course and guide items were placed on 30‑day display and committee members fielded one question about course content for the merchandising class; staff said course development would be done by a teacher committee if the board approves the move to full board.
