Treasure Island Museum board member asks Arts Commission for interest in rebuilding Statue of Pacifica

"It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, once in a generation opportunity, maybe once in a century opportunity to give San Francisco this iconic landmark back," Traverso said, describing Pacifica as "a Statue Of Liberty Of The West." He said the working group is not necessarily acting under the museum's auspices and that he was providing contact information for commissioners and staff interested in hearing more.
