At its Jan. 6 meeting the Grand County Airport Board completed several routine approvals: it approved minutes from Dec. 2 and the Dec. 9 special budget meeting; it approved three FAA-required documents (Title VI nondiscrimination procedures, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) procedures and a Community Participation Plan (CPP)); and it approved renewal of an existing lease with ARINC (a long-standing aviation communications equipment provider).
Board members said the Title VI/DBE/CPP materials were largely standard required forms the FAA has begun enforcing for commercial airports, and the county attorney had reviewed the materials. Tammy said the airport will post required nondiscrimination notices and provide translated assistance where needed.
The ARINC lease renewal was described as a specialized, single-source service providing radio-communications equipment and antenna space on the terminal. The board approved the renewal as presented; no rent change was proposed and staff said the arrangement does not compete with other terminal space because the service is specialized.
All items passed unanimously; no further substantive debate occurred at the meeting. The board recorded the votes as approvals to forward the FAA documents to the County Commission for final acceptance and to complete the ARINC renewal process.
