Airport board accepts revised hangar spacing language, forwards to county attorney

The Grand County Airport Board voted unanimously Jan. 6 to accept revised language for the airport's minimum standards that clarify required spacing between hangars and minimum square footage requirements and to forward the revised text to the county attorney for review.

Board members said the changes incorporate suggested text from the zoning administrator and from building engineering and planning and zoning staff. Tammy (airport staff) displayed an emailed version of the proposed edits during the meeting.

Board member Bill made the motion to accept the updates as they appear in the emailed version, Jason seconded and the motion passed without dissent. Tammy said the next step is to have the county attorney review the plain copy before it is finalized.

Board members said the edits were limited in scope and consistent with prior discussions, and no further substantive changes were proposed at the meeting. The board did not approve a final policy document; it approved only the motion to accept the revised language and move it to legal review.

The changes discussed included inserting a reference to building engineering and planning and zoning in the hangar-size language and spelling corrections to the minutes excerpt included in the packet. No code citations or state statutes were introduced during the discussion.

The board did not vote on final ordinance adoption; the county attorney review is the next formal step before any formal adoption or posting.
