Carlisle HRC says it can release MEI results; notes withdrawal of transgender veterans petition

The Carlisle Human Relations Commission announced that it may now release the results of its Municipal Equality Index (MEI) assessment and said the commission received a score of 100.
In staff updates at the meeting, Amy, a commission staff member, said the HRC "received a score of a hundred early" and that the MEI results that could not be shared immediately after the November meeting are now available to release.
Amy also told commissioners the HRC had supported a separate federal petition seeking access to gender-affirming care for transgender veterans, but the petition sponsor withdrew the filing earlier this year. "They withdrew their position, their petition, due to concerns about the new administration and not knowing what would happen there," Amy said.
The staff update included no formal motion or vote related to the MEI release; Amy said the HRC shares MEI results with borough council by email and during annual budget and planning discussions. "We do still share the results with council... it's sent out in an email," Amy said when addressing whether the MEI had been presented at a public council meeting.
No new directives or funding decisions tied to the MEI were recorded at the meeting.
