Brown said the amendment would replace a 1990 ordinance that authorized on‑site mobile food truck use and would reduce the originally authorized outdoor seating capacity from 68 to 60 patrons while extending operating hours to 6 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 6 a.m.–10 p.m. Friday–Saturday. He recommended approval, finding the proposal aligned with master‑plan policies and consistent with charter safeguards for special‑use permits.
Applicant representative Alessandro Regate of Baker Development Resources told the commission the proposal retains prior conditions but modifies the patio layout to make room for a mobile pizza truck and slightly extends closing times to better suit a prospective operator. He said the owner notified nearby property owners and the Museum District Association; the association provided a letter of non‑opposition and staff received additional letters of support attached to the case file.
Commissioners asked about sound and hours; a commissioner noted that the city’s noise ordinance (chapter 11) sets lower limits overnight and expected any outdoor activity to comply. Brown and Regate said the outdoor seating area is proposed along Roseneath Road and that one curb cut would be retained to allow mobile‑truck loading and unloading.
A motion to recommend approval passed on a recorded roll call with all commissioners voting yes. The recommendation will be forwarded to City Council for final action.
